tiff 2012

That better not be just any old mint.Comstock

Ever wondered how a movie star sleeps at night? This TIFF, for one such triple-A-lister, Hazelton Hotels has flown in the answer: A "handcrafted luxury bed" by Haastens, retailing for $100,000, rests in an unnamed penthouse suite at 1 Hazelton Lanes.

While that figure might seem a little on the "are you effing high?" side, it's important to factor in how the maids must feel, knowing they only have to make this bed for 6,500 hours before they can afford to buy it. Besides, counting sheep is passé. It's all about counting zeros now.

Meanwhile, at Senses Bar at the Soho Met, a $250 cocktail awaits festivalites who want to drown the sorrows of a heavy heart. Did I say heart? I meant wallet. Surmised partial list of ingredients: cocaine; that fancy vodka with real gold flakes; the part of the Hope Diamond that touched Kate Winslet's naked bosom.
