On way to @JWMarriottCancun for late summer R&R. THE TWITTER DIARIES already in carry-on. According to jacket copy: A tale of 2 cities, 1 friendship, 140 characters.

Book written entirely in tweets. Feel I must read to see if can be done. Have suspicion will either love it or #throwitoversuitebalcony. Quick @Google revealed book inspired by Georgie Thompson (@OfficiallyGT) and Imogen Lloyd Webber (@ILloydWebber) meeting @PiersMorgan's place and becoming Twitter pen pals.

Comforted by fact that author team takes liberty of resorting to the following when tweets runneth over: ">>"

>>because sometimes you simply can't say everything in 140 characters or less. Find this to be true, personally, almost all of time. #butItry

Book #heroines are @TuesdayFields (based on Thompson) & @StellaCavill (based on Lloyd Webber).

Both #30something, #single and #fabulous. Of course, they don't know it and are caught up in all manner of #drama.

Although #heroines are adorable (@StellaCavill runs shoe empire and is unlucky in love; @TuesdayFields is broadcaster; is also unlucky in love)

>> think @TuesdayFields' @Mum might be best character of all. She tweets Tuesday things like:

>> RT @Mum: Darling I've been thinking. Important just to crack on with life. Unmarried girl of your age, life's too short.

>> Happy Valentine's! Love Mum x

It's like Bridget Jones has Twitter account and I'm reading it! Wait, does she? Just checked. @bridgetjoneshf #nevermind. Must follow.

Ooh, plot thickens: @TuesdayFields recovering from recent heartbreak by succumbing to charms of @No1Sportsman, a sexy Formula 1 champ.

Meanwhile, @StellaCavill torn between boring boyfriend @MerchBanker and horny movie star @MichaelAngeloMovie.

@GlobeReader, obviously neither of them are right for her but secretly hope she shags movie star.

Also think it's v. good thing that these gals have such juicy lives.

>> because if no #drama, would be v. boring book. Especially when written all in tweets. Ex: @TuesdayFields what are you doing? @StellaCavill nothing, you? #zzz #fail

Officially fell in love with @TuesdayFields on p41:

>>RT @TuesdayFields: Last night I behaved like a total tart with a man far too young to see me naked in anything other than a blackout.

She's referring to @JakeJacksonLive, 24-yr-old correspondent. @TuesdayFields fighting him off but I think they're #starcrossedlovers

This book is making me feel like total voyeur. #andIlikeit

Just decided to tweet @imolloydwebber

>>RT @marissastapley: In midst of THE TWITTER DIARIES and laughing aloud. Tell me, was it impossible to write in 140 character bursts? I can barely

>> ahem finish this tweet

@imolloydwebber hasn't tweeted back yet. Probably busy being fabulous. Probably not good idea to tweet again and tell her I loved Cats.

>>Either way, plane is about to take off so must turn off phone or will get ejected.

Just realized plane is about to land and am almost halfway through. It's official: this book is #notsoguiltypleasure. Format perhaps not for all but it really is #hilarious.

>>And, more importantly, #smart.

Friendship developing between @TuesdayFields and @StellaCavill total #sisterhood.

>> having doubts about social media lately, but maybe not such a bad thing?

>>Except must keep reminding self that @TuesdayFields and @StellaCavill don't really exist and thus can't befriend them. #signofagoodbook

Plane has landed, phone is on, and @imolloydwebber just tweeted back!

RT @imolloydwebber: Really hope you continue to enjoy. No wasted words and Stella and Tuesday got very good at finishing each others' sentences!

Indeed. Quite the feat to write book consisting almost solely of dialogue. Think even @elmoreleonard would be impressed.
