Controversial former CBC executive Richard Stursberg will publish his account of running the public broadcaster's English services next April.
Tower of Babble: Sins, Secrets and Successes Inside the CBC will detail Stursberg's six years with the corporation.
Stursberg was in a leadership position during a polarizing lockout and oversaw the amalgamation of English language services (TV, radio and online). He was heavily criticized for some programming decisions, such as the addition of U.S. game shows Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.
According to a press release from publisher Douglas & McIntyre, his memoir is "the fascinating story of the attempt to transform the CBC into a broadly popular, audience-focused organization ... a story about shows, stars, flops, hits, arguments, deals, successes and failures – and ultimately a debate about where Canadian culture is going."
