Avatar remained the favourite movie with audiences as it crossed the $1-billion (U.S.) threshold after three weeks in theatres. It is the fastest flick in history to reach that mark and only the fifth movie to ever do so. James Cameron is now the only filmmaker to hit $1-billion - Titanic was the biggest world blockbuster with $1.8-billion internationally.
