Dominik Garcia-Lorido, Julianna Marguiles and Andy Garcia in a scene from City Island.

City Island (2010)

Everyone in the Rizzo family (headed by Andy Garcia and Julianna Margulies) keeps secrets, so everyone leaps to conclusions. The film "probably has too many moving parts," The Globe's three-star review said, but writer-director Raymond De Felitta "understands that a proper farce, like a good campfire, needs plenty of friction to get started." Extras include an amusing round-table discussion with cast and director. "Can you imagine," Margulies says, "what this movie would have been like - our fights and all of it - if we weren't trying for a PG-13 rating?"

After.Life (2009)

No sooner has Justin Long played the perplexed boyfriend of a woman under a curse in Drag Me to Hell than he plays the distraught boyfriend of a woman (Christina Ricci) who may or may not be dead. Only the funeral director (Liam Neeson) knows, in this extremely creepy film. Ricci wakes up on the slab after a car accident, and feels okay, but Leeson says she's experiencing a three-day acclimatization to the fact that she's dead. Director Agnieszka Wojtowicz-Vosloo chats matter-of-factly about it all, including her choice of ending.
