When, what and where
- Dates: Taylor Swift is at B.C. Place on Friday through Sunday, finishing a globetrotting Eras Tour that also energized Toronto for six nights. The Globe’s Marsha Lederman, who will review Sunday’s show, has a primer on what Vancouverites can expect around town until then.
- Getting around: TransLink is deploying more buses and SkyTrains to increase service over the weekend, including a special “Midnight” ride on the West Coast Express. Check transit alerts or register for personalized updates to make sure your commute goes smoothly.
- Where to stay, when to stay away: Hotel and short-term rental rates have surged to about 10 times the normal cost, so if you’re planning to visit, budget accordingly. Expect traffic to be slow this weekend: Roads around BC Place have been closed or reserved for pick-up and drop-off zones.

The green era
Last year, Swift was the first artist in history to become a billionaire based on music and tours alone. She could be considerably richer by the time the 152-show Eras Tour ends in Vancouver, where some fans have paid thousands of dollars for a seat at BC Place with no view of the stage. Who benefits from all that wealth? Report on Business Magazine editor Dawn Calleja crunched the numbers, while reporter Josh O’Kane looked at how Swifties challenged Ticketmaster to get more bank for their bucks.
