Barenaked this spring

Barenaked Ladies kick off a hectic spring with a midday acoustic gig Tuesday at 12:15 at Toronto's First Canadian Place. An autograph session is scheduled afterward. The band's North American tour of small venues starts April 6 in Victoria, with a number of stops across the country next month before the last Canadian stop of this tour in Oshawa, Ont., on May 1.

Despite their recent ups and downs, the band members are still friends with the daytime media. BNL will continue the rounds promoting the new album with scheduled appearances on CBC Radio's Q Wednesday, NBC's The Today Show Monday morning and Live! With Regis and Kelly on March 31.

A new page for Steven

Since leaving BNL, Steven Page has also been gearing up for a busy year. He opens tonight for Norah Jones's sold-out concert in Toronto. His album A Singer Must Die, a collaboration with Toronto chamber music group Art of Time, was released last month, and Page has been performing with the group.

His first post-BNL solo album is also in the works, and Page says he is gunning for a summer release (although he also says on his website that that may be a little optimistic). Canadian, U.S. and European gigs are in the works.
