Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Complete Seventh Season (2009)

This season of Larry David's comedy of discomfort and embarrassment sees a reunion of the cast of Seinfeld, playing not just their characters but David's skewed version of their real selves. "I've turned them into monsters, really," he says in the extras. Jason Alexander, who played George on Seinfeld, "quits" the reunion and is replaced by David, on whom George was based. But Alexander had to give David pointers on how to play the character. "It's a little strange," Alexander says, "telling the guy who came up with George how to do George."

Lexx: Season 1 (1996-97)

Planets die, but this Canadian-German co-production with impressive special effects is a tongue-in-cheek hoot. The Lexx, the evil empire's best spaceship, is stolen by doltish security guard Stanley Tweedle (Brian Downey as the comic relief), the gorgeous Zev (Eva Habermann), a long-dead but functional assassin named Kai (Michael McManus) and a robot's head in love with Zev. Season 1 consists of four 90-minute movies. In Season 2, to be released this summer, Zev is replaced by the poutier Xev (Xenia Seberg) and the shows are shorter.
