The community has been under a Boil Water Advisory fo the past twenty (?) years. A new treatment plant is being built but may not be operation until later this year.

Morning Update: RCMP manhunt ends; recession fears; whales in danger

RCMP dive team members return from a dive in the Nelson River in Northern Manitoba on Sunday evening. The team searched eddies beyond the the lower rapids near where a banged up rowboat was spotted on Friday. The dive team was assisting in the search for triple murder suspects Bryer Schmegelsky and Kam McLeod. Team wouldn’t confirm if any clues were found. It was. about 75 km north of Gillam, Manitoba, and police have not confirmed the rowboat’s connection to the suspects.

Kelly McIntosh wipes away tears while the Honourable Eileen Gilllese discussed her report into long term care deaths. McIntosh was there to support her friends whose father was killed by Elizabeth Wettlaufer. Wettlaufer plead guilty and was sentenced to life for the deaths of eight residents of nursing homes in south western Ontario.
