Finance, infrastructure, federal politics and how Parliament works
Bill Curry is The Globe and Mail’s Deputy Ottawa Bureau Chief. He is a two-time National Newspaper Award winner in the politics category, including in 2022 with Globe colleague Mahima Singh for coverage of spending issues related to the ArriveCan app and in 2020 for team coverage of the Liberal government’s since-cancelled contract with the WE organization to run a student grant program. He also received a 2023 NNA citation of merit in the investigations category for reporting on allegations of misconduct in federal outsourcing.
His coverage focuses on economics and government spending, but he also writes about a wide range of issues on Parliament Hill.
He first joined the Parliamentary Press Gallery in 2000 as a reporter with The Hill Times, before working at the National Post and the Canwest News Service. He joined the Globe’s Ottawa bureau in 2005.
