Claire McFarlane grew up in Brockville, Ont. before moving to Toronto to study journalism at Toronto Metropolitan University. In 2022, she began pursuing a masters in journalism from Carleton University. Before graduating in 2024, she worked as an academic intern at The Globe and Mail. Claire has spent the better part of the past year as a reporter at Cabin Radio in Yellowknife, where she wrote about the Dehcho region and the housing crisis in the Northwest Territories.
