Dawn is the editor of Report on Business magazine, where she oversees a mix of long-form features, programs such as Women Lead Here and Canada’s Top Growing Companies, and more.
Dawn was born into an Air Force family in Halifax and bounced around various bases before moving to Toronto to attend Toronto Metropolitan University’s journalism program. She started her professional career as a fact checker and reporter at Canadian Business, working her way up to senior editor. After a stint as executive editor at Financial Post Magazine, she joined Report on Business in 2006.
She has won numerous National Magazine Awards both as a writer and editor, and received The Globe and Mail’s George Brown Prize for Editing in 2020. She also helped launch SABEW Canada, an organization dedicated to the advancement of business journalism, and ran its prestigious Best in Business Awards program for nine years.
