Dayne began reporting for The Globe and Mail as an academic intern during the COVID-19 pandemic and then again as a summer business reporter in 2025.
Between those two stints, he spent nearly four years at CBC Saskatchewan, reporting on major stories including the inquiry into the death of mass killer Myles Sanderson, violence in Saskatchewan's northern communities and a woman whose investigation into her brother's assault led to his assailants's arrests.
Dayne is originally from Regina, but has written in communities across Canada, including Kelowna, Calgary, Saskatoon and Halifax.
He enjoys water skiing and hockey, but isn't very good at either.
