Joe Castaldo is a business reporter at The Globe and Mail, with a focus on artificial intelligence.

He joined the newspaper in 2018 as a feature writer for the business section, and covered the mysterious collapse of cryptocurrency exchange Quadriga, the scandals at adult entertainment giant MindGeek, and the bitter feud between the owners of the Toronto Star. These days, Joe reports primarily about the development of AI, exploring the risks and opportunities for businesses and society at large.
