Joy is an Indigenous Black Canadian journalist and former athlete. As a proud member of the Kainai Blood Tribe who grew up in Lethbridge, Alberta, she reports on the toughest Indigenous issues in our country and telling stories through an Indigenous lens.
Along with The Globe and Mail, Joy has bylines in CBC, The Narwhal, The Walrus, Toronto Star and Sportsnet, focusing particularly on the environment, healthcare and Indigenous affairs, as well several op-eds. Through her reporting, Joy hopes to give a voice to those who feel underrepresented in the media because of their gender, race, ability or privilege.
