Larry MacDonald is a former economist who spent a fair amount of time dealing with multicollinearity, heteroskedasticity, endogenous variables and other complexities in order to calculate correlation coefficients and regression equations that uncovered relationships between economic variables (he kids us not). Larry then left this career path after several years to become a freelance investment writer and author of business books, some of which became bestsellers in Canada. His latest book, The Shopify Story, received a Gold Medal from the Axiom Business Books Awards for its account of Shopify’s rise from a two-person startup in 2006 to the second largest e-commerce company in North America.
