International Business University (IBU) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Asima Vezina as President and Vice Chancellor, effective March 1, 2025.
Dr. Vezina is a transformative leader with over two decades of experience in higher education, government, and public administration. She previously served as President and Vice Chancellor of Algoma University. With a proven track record in strategic growth, financial stewardship, and business transformation, she brings deep expertise in governance, risk management, and academic leadership. A strong advocate for innovation, industry partnerships, and internationalization, she has been instrumental in shaping forward-thinking educational models that prepare students for success in a dynamic global economy.
Her leadership has been widely recognized through multiple awards, including Business Person of the Year (2024) from the Brampton Board of Trade, the Academic Innovation Award (2024) from the Network of Nigerians Canada, and the Queen’s Jubilee Award (2023) for Exceptional Community Leadership.
