Karen Sheriff, Chair of Emera Inc. (TSX/NYSE: EMA) is pleased to welcome Isabelle Courville to the Board of Directors, effective September 17, 2025.
With over 20 years’ experience as a senior leader in the energy and telecommunications sectors, Ms. Courville brings extensive expertise in corporate strategy, capital investment and regulated operations. She is the former President of Hydro-Québec Distribution and Hydro Québec TransÉnergie, former President of Bell Canada’s Enterprise Group, and former President and Chief Executive Officer of Bell Nordiq. An accomplished corporate director, Ms. Courville has been chair of Canadian Pacific Kansas City since 2019, the first woman to chair a Class 1 railway in North America. She is the former Chair of Laurentian Bank, served on the board of TVA Group, owner of Canada’s largest private French television network, and a former director of Miranda Technologies, a global provider of hardware and software solutions for the broadcast media industry. Ms. Courville was also a director of SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. and Gecina S.A., a France-based real estate investment trust. Ms. Courville currently serves on the board of Veolia Environment S.A., a French multinational specializing in water and waste management, and energy services, as well as the Institute for Governance of Private and Public Organizations. Her experience as an executive leader and commitment to robust corporate governance make Ms. Courville a welcome addition to the Emera Board.
