The University of Toronto is pleased to announce the election of Rajiv Mathur as Vice-Chair of the Governing Council for 2026-27, effective July 1, 2026.
Rajiv Mathur is a public accounting firm partner, business adviser and independent director with more than 30 years of professional services experience advising private and public sector organizations. He currently serves on the boards of a Canadian bank and an asset management company and is a retired senior partner of Deloitte. He holds a BTech in mechanical engineering and an MBA and has earned the ICD.D, CA and CPA designations. He has served as a Governor of the University (as a Lieutenant Governor in Council appointee) since 2020.
