Sharm Powell, to the Board of Directors, Cadillac FairviewSUPPLIED
The Board of Directors of Cadillac Fairview (CF) is pleased to welcome Sharm Powell. Ms. Powell brings a wealth of experience to CF, with a career spanning real estate, banking, brokerage, and investments. Her expertise includes property acquisitions/ dispositions, development and redevelopment (including mixed-use and site intensification projects), as well as structuring long-term joint ventures, public and private market financing, and corporate mergers and acquisitions.
Most recently, Ms. Powell was a Director at Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB), where she led the Real Estate Investments Team for Canada and oversaw its entire Canadian real estate portfolio of retail, office, industrial, and multi-family rental properties. She previously oversaw CPPIB’s North American retail and US multi-family real estate investments. In her investment role, she also emphasized stewardship, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) awareness, as well as stakeholder accountability and transparency.
Prior to her time at CPPIB, Ms. Powell spent eight years with CB Richard Ellis (CBRE) on the National Investment Team in Toronto and eight years at BMO Capital Markets in its Investment Banking Group, where she focused on public real estate companies and REITs.
Ms. Powell is a graduate of Western University with a BA in Economics.
