Daniel R. Hursh, Chair of the Board of James Richardson & Sons, Limited, is pleased to announce the appointment of Thor R. Richardson as President of James Richardson & Sons, Limited.
Mr. Richardson is the eighth family President of James Richardson & Sons, Limited (JRSL) since 1857. He most recently served as Vice-President, Business Development and Integration at Richardson International Limited, a global leader in agriculture and food processing. He holds an Honours degree in Business Administration from the Ivey School of Business and a Bachelor of Laws degree (Honours) from the University of Cambridge.
Mr. Richardson is currently a member of the board of Patricia Transportation Company Limited (parent company of Bison Transport Inc.) and in his new position, will join the boards of directors of Richardson International Limited, Tundra Oil & Gas Limited, Kingston Midstream Limited, Wynward Insurance Group and Lombard Realty Limited, all of which are subsidiaries of JRSL. He is active in the community and supports numerous organizations while serving on the boards of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and Futurpreneur.
To ensure a well-supported step in the generational succession of the firm, former JRSL President Mr. Hartley T. Richardson, LVO, O.C., O.M., LL.D., will continue as the Chief Executive Officer of JRSL, a position he has held since 1993.
