Officers with the Homicide Unit of the Toronto Police are investigating after a woman’s dismembered body was found in a plastic bag in the city’s Leslieville neighbourhood.

Police say they discovered the body around 1:30 Monday afternoon in the Eastern Avenue and Berkshire Avenue area.

Officers are working to identify the victim, who is described as being 5′ 2″, weighing 118 pounds, with a light complexion, and short dark shoulder-length hair.

She was wearing a red, long sleeve Armani Exchange shirt and had distinct designs painted on her finger and toe nails.

Police are asking anyone who was in the area on Monday between 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. who may have seen someone pushing a foldable shopping cart filled with black garbage bags to contact them immediately.
