The Crown says a trial date has been set for a Victoria man accused of murder in the deaths of his two young daughters.

Andrew Berry was charged with two counts of second-degree murder after the bodies of four-year-old Aubrey and six-year-old Chloe were found in an apartment in nearby Oak Bay on Dec. 25, 2017.

A friend of their mother has said the girls were visiting their father as part of a custody arrangement.

Crown counsel Patrick Weir says Berry’s trial is scheduled to begin April 8 in B.C. Supreme Court in Vancouver.
