Detectives with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team are looking into the shooting of a man early Tuesday in Chilliwack, B.C.
A RCMP news release says officers were called to an intersection in the city where they found a 27-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was taken to hospital and police say he isn’t expected to survive.
Const. Harrison Mohr with the investigation team says the victim is known to police and the shooting appears to have been targeted.
He says investigators are still trying to determine if the victim has any direct connections to gangs or the drug trade and they have no reason to believe the general public is at risk.
Police say they have no suspects in custody.
