Is there a festive decoration that sparks joy in your household? We want to know.Matt Slocum/The Associated Press

The holiday season is underway and Canadians are starting to pull decorations out of storage (if they haven’t already) as the nights get shorter and chillier.

Twinkly lights and evergreen trees aside, we want to know about the unique decorations that make your family’s holiday celebrations special.

Do you have a tree ornament or tree topper that holds a special place in your heart? Is there a menorah you’re excited to use? Is there a funny hat that everyone takes turns wearing, a table centrepiece that makes the holiday dinner feel complete, or a festive family heirloom that brings back memories of an important person in your life?

Tell us about your favourite holiday decoration and what it means to you in the form below, or by sending an e-mail (with a picture) to audience@globeandmail.com with “Holiday decoration” in the subject line. You can also submit photos using this form.

Your item and response may be included in an upcoming Globe and Mail story about sentimental holiday decor. We’ll reach out if we’re looking for any more information.
