Remind mom that middle children are the awesome ones with this retelling of Jane Austen’s classic novel, Pride and Prejudice. This project centres on the oft-forgotten sister from that tome, Mary Bennet. The 10-part series streams in 30-minute instalments and offers plenty of comedy alongside the typical romance you’d expect from an Austen tale. There are memorable performances by Ella Bruccoleri and Ruth Jones as Mary and her mother, Mrs. Bennet, and a story that captures their relationship in a whole new light. It isn’t always an easy dynamic to watch, especially when things get tense. But in the end it’s a great reminder that the biggest hurdle most moms and daughters face is a simple lack of communication.

In each episode she helps tell heartwarming stories of adult women who plan their mothers’ dream weddings. It’s a fresh role reversal from the old mother-of-the-bride trope, and the series features incredible parties and festivities – including, of course, memorable Christmas-themed nuptials.

Lisa Kudrow’s Valerie Cherish character has been through plenty of iterations over the past couple of decades, from sitcom star, to reality diva, to AI influencer. There are plenty of reasons to watch with mom, including the fact that Kudrow cast her real-life son, Julian Stern, as a troubleshooting tech guy named Evan. Then there’s the fact that this season has earned the highest critical reviews in the show’s history thanks to its brilliant storyline and overall acting. The run comes to an end this Mother’s Day though, so now’s the best time to watch it in its entirety.

It’s definitely been a bumpy first month for the Toronto Blue Jays, who came out strong during their opening weekend but then succumbed to loss after loss (and injury after injury). Heading into the back half of May, the boys in blue are hoping to turn it around, and what better time to start than this weekend’s home series against that other Los Angeles team, the Angels. While the team itself is celebrating Mother’s Day on Sunday with themed events at the park, the 1:37 p.m. ET game time is the perfect postbrunch activity to keep the mimosas going with mom while bonding on the couch.
