One man has died in a crash involving a stolen vehicle east of Calgary.

EMS say an SUV heading east on the Trans-Canada Highway left the road and ended up on the opposite side of the road just before Strathmore around 7 a.m. Wednesday.

Police say it's believed a man got out of the vehicle and walked on the highway and was hit and killed by an oncoming vehicle that did not remain stop, about 400 metres from the rolled SUV.

Three teenage girls were ejected from the SUV and suffered serious but non life threatening injuries, while a fourth teen had minor injuries.

RCMP say witnesses reported the SUV vehicle had been travelling at high speeds prior to losing control and rolling.

The vehicle was reported stolen in Calgary.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call Strathmore RCMP at 403-934-3535.
