Mounties have laid charges in a Canada Day crash in central Alberta that killed two teens and injured three others.

Police say the single vehicle crash happened east of Red Deer on July 1.

Two teens, an 18-year-old male from Penhold, and a 16-year-old female from Springbrook were thrown form the vehicle and were dead on scene.

Three others were taken to Red Deer hospital and one was released a short time late.

Dylan Beauclair, who is 18 and from Red Deer, is charged with dangerous driving causing death and dangerous driving causing bodily harm.

He was released from custody with conditions and is scheduled to appear in Red Deer Court in November.
