A Calgary woman has been fined $2,000 for hitting and killing an elderly man.

The 91-year-old man was on the sidewalk, using his walker, when he was hit by a truck that was backing out of a driveway on Jan. 18.

The man was dragged about 125 metres and died of his injuries, while the driver took off.

Police talked to the driver, and determined she had no idea what happened.

Jacoba Jean Davidson, who is 26, was later charged with unsafe backing.

Alberta Justice confirms Davidson pleaded guilty last week and her licence was also suspended for 90 days.
