A Calgary woman has been sentenced to 4 1/2 years in jail for killing two people while driving drunk.

Amie Nottebrock ran a red light and T-boned another car, killing her passenger, 24-year-old Danielle Russell, as well as 20-year-old Arsh Brar, who was driving the other car, in 2012.

Nottebrock, who is 27, was found guilty of impaired driving and criminal negligence causing death in May.

She will also be banned from driving for five years when she is released from prison.

The Crown wanted a sentence of five to six years , while the defence was asking closer to four.
