A central Alberta woman accused of killing her infant son has pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Florencine Potts of Maskwacis entered her plea in Red Deer court.

She was sentenced to 30 months in jail.

The body of 15-month-old Jay Johnston was found inside a home on the Samson Cree Nation on Dec. 5, 2015.

Potts was arrested later that day.

She was originally charged with second-degree murder. (RD News Now)
