A five-year-old child is dead following a multi-vehicle crash in northwestern Alberta.
RCMP say two SUVs and a truck collided Monday on Highway 35 south of Paddle Prairie.
Police say the SUVs were travelling south when a truck heading north crossed into the southbound lane.
The girl died at the scene and a woman who was in the same vehicle was flown to Grande Prairie hospital in serious condition.
Another child who was in the SUV was treated for minor injuries.
Three people in the other vehicles suffered minor injuries.
Note to readers: This is a corrected story. A previous version said the dead child was a boy.
