The trial of a man accused in the death of a woman whose body was discovered in central Alberta has been pushed back by more than a year.
Mark Lindsay, who is 27, was supposed to face charges in Red Deer next month of second-degree murder, offering an indignity to a body and obstruction of justice.
But his lawyer asked for a postponement to allow for more psychiatric evaluations.
The lawyer says Lindsay's mental state has deteriorated significantly since his arrest three years ago in the death of 31-year-old Dana Turner.
Turner's body was found in a field west of Innisfail two months after she was reported missing from Fort Saskatchewan in August 2011.
The trial for Lindsay, who is the son of former Edmonton police chief John Lindsay, has been rescheduled for Feb. 16 to March 4, 2016.
