A 15-year-old boy has been charged with criminal negligence causing death after a school bus struck and killed a teenager in Cape Breton earlier this month.

Cape Breton Regional Police laid the charge following their investigation into the death of Christopher Walter Chafe, an 18-year old student at Sydney Academy.

Police say Chafe died after he was run over by a school bus on a street outside his school on Feb. 11.

Staff Sgt. Ken O'Neill says the accused is a fellow student.

The Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School Board has said two students were playing around outside the high school when one of them fell under the bus.
