A 79-year-old woman has died after a crash in western New Brunswick.

The RCMP say the woman was driving a vehicle Thursday at around 1 p.m. on Highway 165 in Lower Woodstock when it lost control, crossed the centre line and collided with an oncoming vehicle.

The woman from Hay Settlement died from her injuries.

Police say they have not identified her to allow them time to notify her family.

Investigators say there the roads were slippery at the time of the crash, which may have been a factor.
