The Canada Border Services Agency says an American man has pleaded guilty to smuggling child pornography after he was arrested at a port in Nova Scotia.

The agency says Brian Scott Long of Washington entered the plea Monday in Dartmouth provincial court.

The 51-year-old was sentenced to 90 days in jail.

The agency says officers were examining a vessel berthed at the Autoport Terminal in Eastern Passage on Dec. 30 when they found a laptop containing suspected child porn.

Long was arrested and charged with smuggling under Section 159 of the Customs Act.
