Connor Jones scored the deciding goal in a shootout to lift the Bridgeport Sound Tigers to a 3-2 victory over the St. John's IceCaps on Sunday in American Hockey League action.

Joe Whitney and Bracken Kearns each had a goal and an assist in regulation for Bridgeport (6-2-0).

St. John's Michael McCarron tied the game 2-2 with two seconds left in the third period. Mark Barberio also scored for the IceCaps (5-1-2).

Sound Tigers' goaltender Christopher Gibson stopped 25 shots through regulation and overtime and stopped 6-of-9 shots in the shootout.

Dustin Tokarski made 35 saves for St. John's and gave up four goals in nine attempts in the shootout.
