An 18-year-old Halifax man is facing attempted murder charges after police say he fired shots at a car.

Police say the incident occurred early Sunday morning on Federal Street.

They say there was more than person in the vehicle that was targeted, however, no one was injured.

Police say a man was arrested after officers were called to the scene to investigate a dispute on the street.

Along with attempted murder, the suspect is also charged with careless use of a firearm and other weapons related offences.

Police say the accused and the 49-year-old man in the car know each other.
