A 24-year-old man is facing numerous charges after a car was crashed into a power pole on a small Newfoundland island.
Bell Island RCMP say witnesses told officers responding Saturday to a report of a stolen vehicle that the driver had lost control of the car.
Police say the car hit a power pole, crashed into a ditch and the driver fled the scene, uninjured, before officers arrived.
RCMP say a man arrested attempting to flee the island is charged with theft, impaired driving and a number of traffic offences.
