A man who had prostitution and human trafficking charges laid against him in Halifax earlier this year is now facing additional charges.

Twenty-six-year-old Richard Hover Cooper is facing seven new charges, including procuring prostitution and trafficking a person under the age of 18.

The charges stem from offences allegedly committed against a 19-year-old woman between December 2013 and March 2014.

She was 17 at the time of the alleged offences.

Cooper has been in custody since he was arrested in April and was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday to face the new charges.

A 16-year-old boy from Dartmouth is also facing a number of charges in the case, including making child pornography and trafficking a person under the age of 18.
