The New Brunswick government has provided an update on a program aimed at getting young people on-the-job experience.
The government says its youth employment fund which was launched in April, has so far helped 800 young people gain employment experience.
The goal is to match 1,500 people with employers in the program's first year.
Premier Brian Gallant says the province needs to develop a skilled workforce in order to spur economic development.
People between the ages of 18 and 29 are eligible for the program.
