New Brunswick is officially in the running to host the 2021 Games of La Francophonie in Moncton and Dieppe.
The international committee says bids received from Dieppe and Moncton, Sherbrooke, Que., and Guadeloupe, France, have been retained.
A group of five experts designated by the International Organization of La Francophonie will visit Moncton and Dieppe in November to assess New Brunswick's bid.
The three finalists will defend their bids during proceedings of La Francophonie in March, and the winning bid will be announced in the fall of 2016.
Provincial officials say the economic spinoffs for holding the games are estimated at $25 million for the province.
The Francophonie Games, which Canada last hosted in Ottawa-Gatineau in 2001, are expected to attract roughly 3,000 young people from 80 member states that have French as a common language.
