Halifax Regional Police are investigating the unintentional discharge of an officer's firearm.
Police say the officer was conducting a routine function check outside the West Divisional Office in Bedford around 7:20 a.m. today when a single round was fired from his gun.
The officer had the firearm pointed in a safe direction and no one was harmed.
Police say the officer immediately reported the incident to their supervisor and an internal investigation is underway.
