Police in eastern New Brunswick are investigating the death of a 23-year-old man who did not surface after jumping off a bridge.

Police say RCMP divers recovered the man's body in the St. Charles River in Aldouane.

They have not released his name.

They say people were jumping off the Daigle Creek Bridge early Sunday morning.

They received a call shortly before 4 a.m. that the man from Pointe-Sapin, N.B., had gone off the bridge but did not resurface.
