Police were investigating a death caused by gunshot wounds on Wednesday evening in a residence on the outskirts of Halifax.
Investigators were providing little information on the case, saying only that they responded to a weapons complaint at a residence on Stage Road in Enfield just before 2 p.m.
Paramedics were sent to the scene, but the efforts to treat the victim were unsuccessful and the person succumbed to the injuries.
RCMP Cpl. Greg Church declined to provide any identifying information, including the age or gender, of the person who died.
A news release said the homicide unit was investigating.
