RCMP are awaiting the results of a forensic autopsy after the discovery of a body in a wooded area of western New Brunswick.
The Mounties say the discovery was made around 3:30 p.m. Thursday by two hunters in St. David Ridge outside St. Stephen and nearby Oak Haven.
Cpl. Chantal Farrah says police haven't been able to determine the identity, gender or age of the body.
Farrah says investigators also don't know the circumstances of the death, although evidence at the scene suggests foul play is involved.
Police have been looking for 53-year-old Oak Haven woman who was last seen two weeks ago.
But Farrah says it's too early in the investigation to make any links to the missing person case.
