Halifax-area RCMP are searching for a pair of thieves who swiped a donation box raising funds for a breast cancer charity from a local shop.

The Mounties say a male and female took the box Monday afternoon from the counter of Mom's Country Market on Cole Harbour Road.

A surveillance video of the alleged theft posted on the store's Facebook page has been viewed more than 139,000 times.

It shows a man grabbing a pink-coloured box from the counter and passing it behind his back to a woman, who slips it into a bag.

The two then exit the store.

Police say investigators are aware of the video and have identified the suspects.

The store says it was collecting donations for its team to participate in the CIBC Run for the Cure, which raises money for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
