The RCMP in central New Brunswick say a 13-year-old boy and 14-year-old girl are dead after a pickup truck went over an embankment, flipped on its roof and sank in water.

The Mounties say the victims were with two other boys in the truck at the time of the crash Thursday near Chipman on Roy Mills Road.

They were taken to a hospital in Fredericton at around 11:30 a.m. to be treated for undetermined injuries.

RCMP Const. Derek Black says the girl was pronounced dead at the scene, while the boy died later in hospital.

Police have yet to release any names.
