The driver of a pickup truck is facing charges after allegedly smashing into a school bus with children on board in central Newfoundland.
Police say an officer was responding to another call when he heard a loud bang and turned to see the truck had rear-ended the bus on Brown Avenue in Grand Falls-Windsor.
The RCMP say the bus had flashing lights on at the time and was picking up children on their way to school.
Six children were on the bus, but no one was injured in the crash.
Police say the driver of pickup was charged with an offence under the Highway Traffic Act.
