Police in eastern New Brunswick say two people were killed in a head-on collision in Jolicure.

RCMP say the accident happened on Highway 16 at about 1:45 p.m. Wednesday and involved a dump truck and a sport utility vehicle.

The driver of the dump truck, a 65-year-old man from Charlottetown, and the driver of the SUV, a 45-year-old man from Dieppe, N.B., both died at the scene due to their injuries.

They were the only ones in their vehicles.

RCMP are investigating to determine the cause of the crash.
